Helen Skelton from Blue Peter is going to be raising money for Sport Relief on a very chilly trip. She is going to travel across the Antarctic to the South Pole.
To train for the trip Helen came to the University of Portsmouth Sports Science Laboratory. Helping her was Professor Tipton from the University. She spent 45 minutes in a special pool called an immersion tank. The water in the tank is very cold. It helped to find out how Helen’s body would react to the cold in the Antarctic.
